Admissions for children with an Educational Health Care Plan
Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education Health Care Plan that names a school will be offered place without using the admission criteria and will count as part of the school’s published admission number.
SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
Children in school can present with a range of different additional needs. At St Joseph's we pride ourselves on being able to tailor your child's education to suit their particular needs. Our SEND Leader will work closely with you child's class teacher, you as parents and our Headteacher to put in place a Support Plan to help your child progress.
Some additional needs are very specific and will need a very specialised approach in order to ensure that your child makes good progress. Sometimes children may have a range of more complex needs. In all cases we will work with the ambition that your child will make rapid progress, access a full and vibrant curriculum and work not only upon those things that they find hard but also develop their own unique talents.

How to complain if you are not satisfied with the support you child with SEND is receiving?
First we ask that parents speak to your child's class teacher to try and resolve the issue. If you feel that the issue cannot be resolved by speaking to the class teacher, we would ask that you inform the Headteacher at the earliest opportunity. You will be invited into school for a meeting where your concerns will be heard and we will try to seek a resolution. The overwhelming majority of complaints and concerns are resolved by this stage.
If however you are still not satisfied, you will be invited to follow the school complaints procedure which can be found under the 'Key Information' section of this website.
